The Queensland Government will take specific actions to identify and address the barriers that people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds face to participate in economic opportunities in line with their skills and ambitions.
Our action and status for 2025-26
We delivered on the following action:
- Identify opportunities to assist culturally and linguistically diverse small business intenders and operators
Our outcome:
- Small business support programs are designed for all Queensland small business operators, including by ensuring their accessibility to culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities. Supporting information is available through the Business Queensland website, including access to translation and language assistance services.
Our action and status for 2025-26
We delivered on the following action:
- Continue to offer small business grant and mentoring programs to culturally and linguistically diverse small business owners.
Our outcome:
- In 2025–26, the Mentoring for Growth program delivered 711 sessions to 663 distinct businesses, including 125 businesses that identified as having a CALD background.
- We also approved more than $0.53 million of grant funding to 8 CALD businesses under Business Growth Fund Round 7, supporting business growth and development within Queensland’s CALD small business community
