Queensland small businesses can access free, tailored cyber security courses, webinars and online resources through our partnership with the Council of Small Business Organisations of Australia (COSBOA).
Small businesses can complete short courses within 10 to 45 minutes through the Cyber Wardens program, an Australian Government funded initiative.
Small business owners and their staff will learn:
- red flags to look out for
and - practical steps to prevent disruptions, reputational damage and financial costs.
Our partnership with COSBOA is a commitment under the Small and Family Business First Action Statement.
Cyber threats to business
Cyber threats are an ever-present risk to any business—large or small—and they can be a costly one.
More businesses in Queensland than in any other state have self-reported losses from their business emails being compromised.
The average cost of a cyber attack on small businesses rose by 8% in 2023-24 to close to $50,000.
